I didn't have the correct blue that I used for my 40K model and as I was eager to get painting, I opted for the closest colour. Unfortunately it turned out a bit too dark and also had a shiny finish. I wasn't too pleased but continued with the model. It took quite a lot of effort that I abandoned the other commander and concentrated on this one. Leaving the arms off and painting them separate caused other issues, especially when I came to gluing them to the body, I had to be careful not to pull off the existing paint while applying the glue. Overall the model looked better than I expected until I started trying to take some photos. I accidentally zoomed in and saw how flawed the painting was. I found myself trying to touch up the lines and detail that even my eyes could not pick up, but the camera did. After a couple of attempts, I stopped zooming in with the camera to spot areas that needed improving and put down the paint brush. |
