I'll have second thoughts next time I decide to use designs with curves. It was a lot of sanding to get these curved side pieces to fit against the pipe at the back. As I had a limited space due to lack of planning, these had to sit flush with the end of the pipe rather than extend further like the original model. Making this removeable also makes things worse as I had to add the same detail for the middle thiner TPRs. It's unlikely I would remove these or use them as individual pieces, but having that option is better than regretting not being able to.

Not sure if this is a step up or down from my Bulldog Clips. These were less tight in comparison so they didn't flattened the tube as much. Although a bit more difficult to keep in place as they tend to slip off. Did it's job, but I don't think I will making this a common feature in my HQ.
I was using left over pre-cut strips at certain widths and by the time I reached the fourth, I had run out and had to cut more. I didn't even bother making notes of the width of the different strips I had used. As each one took just under an hour to make, I stopped trying to perfect the curve of each layer and quality dropped when I made the fourth. Worse yet, when I completed the fourth, the height was considerably shorter. What I didn't realise was the three layers that made up the base and the two layers that make up the top were different thickness to the stacked layers. The third and fourth's base was also 1mm (just noticable) wider than others. The length of each are also all eye-balled so they all vary in length, but that can be easily aligned once I plan the next step. I just need to decide if I'm going to make each of these removable from the overall completed design...
I wasn't sure about the size of the the TPR, maybe I should have made it thicker. At least it turned out not too bad. Almost taking up the full height of the room and with the remaining base detail to add, it probably would end up a little thicker. Unfortunately I need to make five more of these and glad I didn't do all four corners rounded.
The Thermic Plasma Regulator doesn't seem to be starting up very quicky. Despite the amount of potential material to use, it was just a little too big. So I decided to build one from scratch. However the photo that inspired this meant I had to scratch build multiple TPR's and after cutting and sanding a few layers, I started to think this was a bad idea.
So I need something to fill the gap between now and New Year that doesn't require a new paint brush. This B1 level still missing a room that I wanted to have a three room length power station of some sort. However I also realised it would be situated next to a small armoury on the left. So do I make the wall at the end of the room thicker? Or would that be too much detail? It's bad enough I'm holding out filling the gap on either side of the middle corridor as I don't want to put pipes that end randomly at a wall. The current unpainted pipe will start from the power station connects down to the Toxic Disposal Chamber in B2!
I'm not sure if I have any more details I can add and clutter this coridoor section that is the entrance to the Power Generator room.. if I don't decide to change the layout before I have an idea how to make it. There is still one more corridoor section before this, but it's gonna be quite plain after all the detail gone into this part. Hopefully I can get that finished off as I'd like to get back to trying to make more Tau like structures with the new Scribe.
I'm not sure if the template had these patterns intentionally together, but it worked out for me. Wanting something grill-like and additionally something to inject some colour helped. I was tempted for contrasting red, but that stood out too much hence the less subtle yellow. Howevet without a scribe, I was using the template for painting and despite the smallest paint on the brush and gentlest touch, paint was still seeping beneath the metal template and requiring touch up after.
When you ready to call it a night, all games finished and closed off, it's probably the best time to do something like this without having any distraction. So despite feeling sleepy, I went on to paint and finish these off. The bottom left is actual triming the back panels rather than creating the bases. I like how the white base stands out, hence left these unpainted.
