Almost Flawless

I managed to paint the rail guns in one sitting. That's the same detail on twelve sides of the weapon and it was almost flawless. Usually takes numerous attempts and alterations, scraping the paint back off so I can repaint. There were still a few mistakes, but not as many as I remember. Only six more Battlesuits to make.

Better Way?

When all was going smoothly with the Tau Broadside Battlesuit, I hit a slight roadblock with needing some bases. This was something I dread as the shape of my base is a nightmare to make. I wish there was a better way to cut these and even thought about a laser cutter, unfortunately I'm not that rich. Despite trying to make accurate measurements, cutting them was difficult as you need to account for the scalpel/penknife blade thickness, so even though one cut may be accurate, it leaves the adjoining piece slightly off. I just wish there was an easier way. Any suggestions?

Determined

I'm determined to complete my Tau Armoured Core Phase 1 this year (hopefully sooner), so that's three Broadside Battlesuits to complete and six standard Battlesuits before I finally get to do the final commander. However the knee with the signature indent is what halted this set of three suits from progressing and after a trickle of enthusiasm, I managed to make the six upper legs with the indent (bottom right of picture). I'm currently thinking that next time it may be better if I should just skip this indent and paint what looks like an indent instead. I've also given up on the idea to mount the rail guns on the arms as there are already other variants that I plan to do with this type of setup.

Lot of Effort

For something that's just a pile of scrap took way too much effort. As I didn't want to be trying to paint into all the awkward spots, I decided to build part of it and paint it before adding to the pile. There was no planning ahead and I just added pieces as I went along and painted it until it looked cluttered enough. I was originally planning to do multiple pieces at once, but luckily didn't as I think I would have abandoned them. I have too many small unfinished projects to start on yet more new ones that likely add to the pile.

Old Project for the New Year

Unfortunately not something I'd likely be finishing off as this was an old piece from many years ago. Bottom right spray painted in black is a noisy jet like CPU cooler. I built this to make a multi-level platform building for my display case to place as many models as possible onto the area it took up. As I needed a home for my Lego Hulk Buster, I pulled this out and it fell apart, hence I had to do some quick and dirty gluing the struts back together. Even the flat plastic platform had warped over time, so I added some lip to the side to prevent the models from sliding off the edge. Luckily it fitted back into the space I had left, albeit side ways. I now have a lot of cramped Space Marines at the base of my Hulk Buster.
