So I need something to fill the gap between now and New Year that doesn't require a new paint brush. This B1 level still missing a room that I wanted to have a three room length power station of some sort. However I also realised it would be situated next to a small armoury on the left. So do I make the wall at the end of the room thicker? Or would that be too much detail? It's bad enough I'm holding out filling the gap on either side of the middle corridor as I don't want to put pipes that end randomly at a wall. The current unpainted pipe will start from the power station connects down to the Toxic Disposal Chamber in B2!

This long section sits between a long coridor in the middle and tha back of some rooms. The only time you would see it in the layout is when the floor above is removed! I'm not even sure why I'm making this. However I won't be adding any more pipes to it just yet. Even the main pipe isn't painted in case I need to add additional stuff to the pipe (stop valve?).
I abadoned the attempt to create my own Hex base and just went and used the purchased laser cut transparent base. I left one wall open, but not fully decided yet whether to fill it or not. However little progress other than the walls. At least the Drone fits neatly inside, although it will eventually be raised for the weapons to be mounted beneath it.
snugly and the base then slots into the original hole in the room. There is a thin piece of plastic glued in place, hence the slot base is slightly raised. This is so that it doesn't drop through when I move the room about. Two magnets removed, but I put one on the single badly made SM that supposed to be working at the console.
The last of my Imperial Guard Gunman. I was so scared of trying to modify the hands, but at least the ankle is nowhere near as fragile as the other Guardsmen. As the hand wasn't touching the head, I carefully added a tiny piece of plastic to represent the finger scratching the head. I was almost tempted to craft a ? and somehow suspend it over his head.
So I opted to use a full sheet of plastic, taking 80% of an A4 sheet of plastic and worked with a lower lip to slot on top of the first layer. However the first glitch was that there were two rooms with items that slightly exceeded the height of the standard room, hence removed when taking the below photos. Also I didn't worry about the lift section yet as the upper section I built had a hole in the ground in case I wanted to try and model a moving lift. Luckily I wasn't planning many floors as the front adn back lip were different thickness and I can see this leaning to one side as I built upwards.
The good thing about Epic is that a piece of A4 plastic lasts quite a while... unless it's making something like this. I was reluctant to use my last thickest piece, but as I haven't touched it for several years, it was finally going to good use. I have numerous other thinner A4 pieces that would not have been stable as this last piece. Despite having an Angle Ruler, cutting straight lines and edges still prove a bit elusive especially trying to get a strip that is the same width along the full length. Hence the lip I added to the base wasn't always straight :( So the next problem if figuring how to make a second layer that would stay aligned to the lower level while giving me enough stability to place the next on top... Do I forfeit a whole sheet of plastic... or do I try and save myself some plastic and cut strips to make a mesh to lay on top...
Finished painting the last Mega-truck the day before the competition and so had to snap some shots of the finished formation and my Thunderhawk Gunship. An entry into the Formation and War-engine Category. As I had the camera out, I took the opportunity to re-take some photos of the previous Thunderhawk gunship and Stormraven to replace the old poor quality ones, hence hopefully posting a Site Update. I won't be putting my Ork trucks up yet as I take photos of them on a more appropriate scenic base. Want to vote for me? Visit the Tactical Command Forum.
Final bits for the Thunderhawk Transporter completed. I can finally move on to a new project. Unfortunately too many ideas. Either work on some old ones or newer ones?
