Life has so many choices and even when you think you made your mind up, we then change it. I've been mulling over my next project even before I finished the Ork Aircraft. Chaos was the only category left to create so all the other choice of Orks and Tau ideas was shoved aside. I started planning to do a Black Legion Deamon Prince, but after reading the fluff, I decided on something different. Wanting something that was not so intense in the painting area, I decided to go with the Chaos Iron Warriors. Hence the quick stick man that hopefully will be padded out with green stuff to make my Warsmith. |

I finally managed to implement some time-out from my tablet, although it's also because I was still recovering and too much time staring at a tablet was giving me a headache. So slowly I was doing a bit at a time as staring so closely was also not helping the headache. However as I managed to get away from my tablet earlier than normal today, I had that bit more time to complete these three. All that is left is to glue them onto my aircraft and think about taking some photos.
The last of my 5 ml dropper bottles. I found my pot of Chestnut Ink in the corner of my work area and it was drying out. Not quite fully dry, otherwise I wouldn't be trying to save it. It was almost like a failed attempt of melting chocolate and there was probably less than 1 ml worth, I was wondering whether the effort was worth it. Think it's time to invest in some paint thinner if what little of this I've save would be of any use.
As I needed some none screen time away from my tablet, I decided to shape my Thermoplastic back into nice rectangle shapes rather than the messy clumped-up pile. I've seen many people use lego to form a box and decided to try it. Works quite nicely and even the smooth side of the lego was used to press and smooth the top part too. After letting them set, I realised that I originally was planning on making more moulds. So after heating them up again, I pressed them back into the lego box and pushed the lego pieces into them. After the second attempt, I remembered I needed to push the plastic back towards the top of the lego piece to close the gap. Unfortunately the end result was still too big for my models.
Finally making progress with the painting, however got a bit carried away as I'm trying to concentrate on each piece at a time. I painted exhaust panels on both sides of the jet engines and was so pleased with the straight thin lines and zero mistake, only to realise that the tail rods fit exactly over the detail I painted. Also unfortunately its my last night before I'm back to work giving me even less time to play on my games... I mean paint.
I forgotten I had mentioned in a previous post a long time back that I dare not open my Metallic paints... and this is the reason why. As I went to open the Amethyst Purple, the cap exploded into pieces as I pried it open. This prompted me to transfer them into my droplet bottles. Luckily the Scorpion Green paint I first transferred into these cheap droplet bottles had not dried, hence confidence was high that the paint would survive. Unfortunately the paint was thick and as I had no lid to shake the paint, by the third bottle, I was getting a quite nice bright metallic purple rather than a thick dark purple as seen in the broken lid.
