Problem with mass production is the slow progress and boring task of making 72 missile tips. Also any mistake is multiplied by the amount of models made. I ended up making the missile base and glued them together to get double thickness, however now slicing them apart again. This is so I can glue and work with a row of three missiles that is far easier than two rows close together. The pros of doing this many is that the end results in very similar and uniformed. Also any learning made is then carried onto the next, although I'm now writing this down in my Battlesuit conversion page for future reference. Rather than using the mini ruler, I resorted to drawing the required length on my green scoring mat. |

So I've been a bit lazy on the modelling front as I've been distracted with multiple games. I've also started playing one called Craft Warriors. It's not the game that has me hooked, but the amount of Marvel Hero models that people have made and I thought I'd make my own too. Unfortunately that also meant re-downloading the old Iron Man 3 game to use the 3D models in the game as a reference rather than rely on google images. This also meant I'm playing it again too!
So the Eldar Project has been parked as for some reason I just can't be bothered to paint them. Been toying with various other ideas what to do next, but none seem to keep my interest. I ended up reheating the mould I made for the horse's leg. It was just a test run anyway to learn more how to use the Thermo Plastic and a lot of green stuff was wasted making the leg. I ended up making another two moulds using the cog that made good wheels and found another smaller one that was hoping would do the same, but the hub was too large and the tyre too thin.
I had forgotten about this purchase I made a couple of years back. It was via ebay and no issue buying from Green Stuff World back then. I used this once to try and mould the walls for my SM HQ, but as it didn't take the detail too well, it went into storage. Stumbling across it again, I decided to play with it. The horse feet were for some old plastic models that lacked it and I also used some cogs that I had from dismantling a wind up toy. Surprisingly one of these turned out to make good looking wheels, but unsure how I managed to make three different sizes from the same mould (far right).
The Tyranids on Parade have been quite lonely and I've been planning this new addition for a while. The Models on Parade will be a collection of odd photos that don't quite fit anywhere, not quite Dioramas and not quite in the Armies section. Some will be edited, while others are battle scenes that I've been longing to do. However I currently only have one, hence no photos in this blog post. You'll just have to click on it to see what you think of my novice skills at photo editing.
Unfortunately work has been busy and sapping my energy to do anything. Hopefully it's not just the lack of enthusiasm on the current Eldar project that is causing my lack of progress, but then there is always the vast amount of daily quests in Marvel Future Fight game getting in the way. I finally decided to take some photos of my Ork trucks.
I'm sure there would have been much better way of making this and less wasteful too, but I'm just glad I'm making progress as I really want to do something different.
