Only needed nine, but as I cut a strip from the 22 cm wide so I had more than I needed. I didn't want to leave any extra plastic that I would probably use for something-else, so I continued to cut the rest. It was a tedious and tiring exercise. Luckily I only cut a strip wide enough for two rows, as originally it would be three to minimise the amount of half lots to glue together.
More problem with mass production. After making nine pair of jet pack exhausts, I realised I should have used slightly thicker plastic card. So the jet packs looked a bit thin. Also they were deeper than the original nine even though I followed my own measurements. Despite the set back, I'm still continuing with them. Originally I was planning on nine Broadside Battlesuits so that I could make the heavy rail rifles, but as the jet packs looked too flimsey, I'm planning on making these into another set of nine Crisis Battlesuits.
Not quite mass production, but planning on making nine in one go. The problem with making models this way is that there is nothing to show until the end of the long journey and the risk is that loss of enthusiasm half way through. I'm hoping this won't happen. Any guess what I'm planning?
Slow progress due to installing SIm City Buildit on my tablet. It's an age old addiction with a lot of annoying features to keep you hooked including random drops so that you need to keep the game open. At least I occasionally manage to tear myself away to concentrate on painting the first five of my bikers. I have another five to paint and a lot more ideas, but I can't tear myself away from Sim City.
Usually I start with the boring troops and leave the best till last. However lack of enthusiasm to paint my ten bikers meant a different approach. Wording is always difficult at this scale and finding a fine enough tipped brush just as hard. As is trying to fit the words Kanon and Wargh fell slightly short. To add insult, I painted the radioactive sign and the dotted disc (rear wheel) before swamping the model with a wash of black that made them less visible.
