So it wasn't too bad making the spear, even though I ended up sharpening the edges of both sides of the spear tip. The difficult part started with the green stuff. Mixing small amounts was difficult and after completing the first Warlock, I still had a small blob left. Then the next difficulty was trying to get the green stuff to stay on the plastic model and the spear. I even tried to make all five fingers on the hand, not only rolling that small amount was difficult, but I kept loosing it. I wonder if after painting this, any of the detail would be left.

I wonder if the effort was worth it sometimes. Took one hour just to spray the top of both raised motorway as I had trouble getting a steady stream of paint. I tried adjusting the psi and that didn’t seem to help. I’m not sure if it’s the mixed acrylic paint was not thin enough or it was just getting blocked. When I started to spray the underneath and pillars, it was working much better and getting a large steady spray. However after mixing a lighter grey, I was back to having trouble. I think I spent over three hours just on this. Worse yet, I have to dismantle the spray brush to clean and I can't figure out how to get it back together again. It was probably the reason why it's not working from last time I took it apart. Possibly I need to read up more on how to use a spray brush.
As I couldn't get into town to the craft shop, I ended up using dense foam for the concrete pillars rather than trying to buy more wood. Unfortunately trying to cut a straight column was hard and even with the additional small support pieces at either side didn't help. Just plopping the thing down, it still wobbles a bit. At least it doesn't tumble over. Just need to add some more cracked concrete and some pot holes and I can paint it.
So the random piece of Balsa Wood I picked up was just wide enough to make a four lane motorway. This was the first time I worked with wood and couldn't believe how soft it was. I was able to slice this up easier than plastic, but was a bit crumbly. I had to be conscious of the wood grain as I almost bent this along the length too much and it would have snapped in half. Using some mesh I purchased off ebay (surprisingly I didn't post a blog about) I managed to push into the edges. Unfortunately I couldn't do much more to this raised motorway as I didn't have anything wide enough to make the pillars for it to rest on.
The height of my shelves were made for books rather than display of 6 mm figures, so you can imagine the wasted space. The mounting numbers of models meant that I have lack of space. So before moving onto another project, I thought I'd try and do some raised scenery to alleviate this problem. So popping into a craft store in town, I picked up a piece of Balsa for the base rather than use plastic sheets and a pack of random damaged wood cheaply. My pen knife needed replacing and this one was cheap with a metal end, so hopefully last longer than my plastic one, although I had that for several years,
So the final trukk painted, although this won't be the last as there are still a few ideas I'd like to make. However this ends the Ork reign as it's time for something new and different.
