So rather than make a slightly larger version, I went supersize. I should try and plan my designs, but a lot of time I just go ahead regardless. My Tau Riptides is one example of lack of planning gone wrong. They're still sitting there reminding me of this, but I never listen, despite it's my own voice. This time its worked out well with the size. The disc in the middle is actually 1cm in radius, the size I thought would be too big, but helps make the smaller epic base propotional to the overall piece. The stretch of plastic above and below the circle is one piece with a hole, giving the rod more surface to glue so that it can be pin'd onto the tower and removed without the rod breaking off as easily. However the lower part is 1mm from the vertical support beam on the tower. If I planned this, then this would be a bigger gap. |
