Bit of a bad day as my son's 4 month old Ipad 9th Gen screen just cracked while it was sitting on the table without it being touched. I noticed a couple of weeks in that the shell was warped slightly, but never kept an eye on it and it seems it had been getting worse. May have been the heat, but it cracked from where it is warped. Usually I keep reciepts, but for whatever reason I couldn't find this one. Also Apple would count it as accidental damage and I didn't get Apple Care+. So it's likely cost me £250 to repair via Apple for a tablet I paid £320 and used for around 4 months :(

I was testing a small sample of Milliput against an unpainted metal Falcon to see the result after it's dried. Side thought, if it works, I may be able to make moulds! I had a small amount left and decided to make a bunch of skulls from what was left. Many eons ago, I wanted a skull pile and never done anything. I believe I even messed about with remaining greenstuff previously (shown in picture) and thought I had more, but couldn't find it. Milliput was difficult to work with, but due to the softer texture it was easier to poke holes into them. So this is the start of a Thousand Skulls Challenge, but to only sculpt them from left overs... roll on another eon before I achieve this.
One project that actually saved me quite a bit of space for once. Although the communication array won't fit on the two taller tower due to the height of the shelf. It will be a while (hopefully not years) before I attempt to paint the towers due to waiting on some new tools to arrive around March time.
origin despite google image search). Then I worked on some new discs, sanding them down was not easy holding onto such small items. I had a mini vice that I couldn't find either. Looking for the old post above I found that this site did it again and replaced a lot of the old posts with new images :( It may be time to find a new home.
magnetic strip around the edges and mounting them ready for painting, I realised that I would need to base coat these white before another base coat of red. Double the effort required.
I took a break, one that lasted longer than expected. Faced with the growing unpainted figures, the Tau Riptides that I wasn't satisfied with and a whole load of new photos to update my Space Marine HQ pages that didn't quite fit with the existing; meant lack of any enthusiasm to get back into the hobby. Matters didn't help with purchasing a PS4 for my son who couldn't keep playing Fortnite on his Ipad. It also meant that I could play Gran Turismo and Diablo 3, two age old addictive games I played, amongst other new games on my Ipad.
Am I back for good... this has been sitting out for over a month now since I cut it apart to add to my Ork Mechanics display. I finally decided to try and get back into this by making some small progress while my games was auto-grinding in the background. So only time will tell. I didn't think I'd get any modelling done this weekend due to the heatwave. Luckily I remembered about a USB fan I purchased a year ago and that helped a lot as it redirected the heat from my fluorescent tube light. I need to get around to replacing that with something that generates less heat, although I have had it for over fifteen years! The pulley system I wanted in my pit room went better than expected with the amount of small detail. I was planning to use green stuff for the chain/rope, but instead went for extremely thin strips of plastic instead.
My corner corridor has a security camera dome made from a sand bead. I can't remember how I went about the original, but likely I filled in the hole and added a red dot. This time around I decided to utilise the hole and added some green stuff so I could insert a small rod inside. This way I use the hole in the bead to my advantage. This got me thinking whether to add this all over my HQ considering that from years ago when I started this hobby, I picked up lots of bags in various colours and luckily a plentiful large bag of matt black ones.
Living the dream... having so much Lego that I have to sort it out. Not that I'm the one playing with them, but they are my sons. And having to deal with a five year old whining that he can't find the piece he wants, sorting them makes life easier looking for the piece he needs. So I spent all weekend sorting (and still not done) rather than work on my models. Due to lack of boxes, I had to sorted them more than once. Large thick pieces and flat pieces were sorted first before the box of small stuff got sorted again between single and slightly larger pieces.
