Around 12 hrs of effort shoveling slate, removing 10 years of roots and relaying finally over in time for the heat-wave. All dailys complete, meant I finally could do some models and was suprised I even had the motivation. I got sick of looking for scraps, so I cut strips of plastic for the piece that extends the buttresses out from the bunker. I used the guillotine for the |
circles, although they will need sanding down to make them thinner. I even started the Ion Cannon with it's curved top barrel... and yes, I'm trying to wrap the plastic around the sanded round top. I just need to be patient and wait for the glue to dry rather than try and pull the other side tight to only realise the first side has shifted.

shift the whole garden slightly in two directions! And after completion realised how to overcome my initial problem! Luckily I can work on this while playing other games, but unfortunately not at the same time as trying to do my models. I will get this Tau rail cannon completed soon...
three others that have quite a few daily tasks. Four other games that I login to get the quick daily rewards and around five others, but for my youngest son! So the count for the year is 3 new games vs 0 games I've quit playing. First step is admitting I have a problem, but no-one ever tells you what the second step is!
So the last title (The End is Near) was probably not the best choice. I had a bit of relapse, the weather was cold and price of gas increased meaning I didn't want to risk bing in the cold study room. I should really get the door reinstalled as I removed it to put a baby gate instead over six years ago. That would probably help keep the room warner... but probably only a little as it's an attic room and have a small radiator.
So I'm finally working on the small Tau logo again, making two more and hopefully obvious for the remaining two Tau towers. I've been trying to complete these towers for over a year now and all I have left is this to add. The first one have a magnet and I even painted the detail lines on the back! However I think I'm going to stick these two to the tower instead of wasting more magnets. All that would be left is to potentially add more Tau details or drones to the towers. No famouse last words... just in case. Each time I finish a project, I usually clear up again, just to wipe away all the remaining dust, paint, plastic shavings or what-ever that seems to gather on the surface of my work-area. So what next... a bit undecided.
So the connections held up, but not sure what happened. The truck didn't stay on the track and just shot off in a random direction, so it seemed to indicate the battery was at least working. However after a factory reset, the firmware would not update, after it attempts to complete, the LED flashes red and the app has a tool icon against it. When put on the charger, the light turns blue. So either I messed up something on the circuit board or the replacement battery is a suspect. Too many bad things happening in the last couple of months :_(
Brand New and over half price, however they knew the battery would be dead and provided a new battery for yourself to replace. So I wasn't too pleased that I had to risk breaking it before I even get to race it... well I got it to do one short lap before the existing battery died. I snapped the top tabs as I didn't bother checking You Tube first and was trying to pry the board out at the wrong end. Luckily the tabs weren't that important as the circuit board is sandwiched between the base and the truck shell. No soldering as they provided shrink wrap to cover the joins. As there was such tight space inside for the wires, it would have been easier if I made the wires shorter, although that's another risk. I just hope my job holds up. I've got one other car that doesn't charge and needs a replacement, but that's another day.
Unfortunately not the good positive, but a COVID-19 positive :( Although today is the day after my 5th day in isolation, my test is showing a faint positive line that appears ~1 minute later (rather than a solid clear line as soon as the liquid hits the marker). I hope that means it's at the end. Unfortunately on my 4th day, my wife's test is positive, now she is in isolation while I look after the kids. Which unfortunately means lack of any progress, even though there was a lack of enthusiasm anyway.
I broke the horns off the Firedragon Falcon Grav Tank again! One of he crystals came off the stand from the new Striking Scorpion shrine.Just as I felt the month was getting back to normal and my mood starts to lift again to make some progess... this happens :(
