So the end of my chest infestion is almost gone, and so is the week of nausia/headache/pain/tiredness. The weather is getting warmer (until the short period of snow that hits early in the year) and despite quitting SimCity Build It to reclaim some time, I'm hooked on two other games. Fortunately I've hit a wall that time (or money) is the only way to progress as there is no grinding to level up. I'm sticking to these two games as the story is complelling; Path To Nowhere and Goddess of Victory: Nikke. The last game even just released a theme song TuNGSTeN with Hiroyuki Sawano that have given me the motivation to get this third Tau Tower painted. The first coat complete and hopefully the music keeps me going until its finished so that I can start work on the components to fit them together.

So I've finally reached the end of finishing Tower Two. It was an exhausting task and not sure when I will feel like tactkling the final tower. The communication array on both towers is identical size and I feel like it doesn't quite fit with the taller tower, hence may end up remaking it :( But think it's time for something different.
Starting something new would probably distract me too much from finishing the job, so I decided to at least stick with one out of the two towers. So I laboured on. The final result of the scribe'd lines looked better, but the effort takes too long. Two coats of the line, plus two base coats plus a touch along the lines and the base again. I finally remembered I just mixed some white in with the Crystal Blue paint to get a similiar, but more liquidey Electric Blue. The original underside of the platform had a cover in the middle so I didn't have to paint the central triangle and grill on the underside (which I would have done). I used what I had, a slightly too short pieces of plastic. I actually like what I did, but this time I'm make it the full length.
I wish I did have an automated machine. However I made far more progress than I'd expected and glad that I decided to do both towers at the same time. It's been difficult finding the correct template and pattern used for the platform markings. Once I found it, I ended up doing the pattern for all six platforms, but regret that I ended up doing the bottom too. Hence that was repeating each pattern ten times! Fortunately I didn't do the underside of the base ceiling as you'd have to dismantle the tower to see it, as opposed to crouching down to see the bottom of the other platforms. The last pattern (on the left side that looks like a backwards 7) I ended up eye-balling with some measurements. Also glad I did the lines post spray paint as it made seeing the scribe'd lines far easier. Just the tower and base to go.
Next time I'll need to cover the ends with masking-tape. Although they slot in, its a tight fit rather than the smooth sliding motion. Hence ended up spending time to scrape off the spray paint. I found my short small metal ruler that makes it easier to scribe as I didn't need to balance a 30cm+ ruler. However it was tiring on the fingers trying to holder the ruler in place tight enough that when I scribe, it didn't move. This was all I managed before the pain was too much.
