After two failed attempts to get the side panels of the cockpit to fit, I broke off the top and glued the side panels before making the top panel. This was way easier. Trying to continue the fuselage in the same style as the Hell Talon, I was faced with a problem. I had three components; front weapons, fuselage and engines with no idea how to fit them together. Worse yet while making the fuselage I started over engineering it, making it removable like the Ork Aircraft so that it could be taken apart to paint. However I didn't need to as this would have no view of the inside. I even originally scraped the idea of making the cockpit window removable. |

Two main weapons completed and I was tempted to add more detail, but stopped in case it would be hidden or I had to change thing too much. I knew this concept was not in line with the Chaos theme so I dug out the Hell Talon for inspiration and decided to copy the cockpit. For a chaos vehicle, it had too much straight lines and perfect angles. In the middle is the attempt with the two middle panels of the cockpit. Next to it is a failed attempt to fit a side panel. This is where mathematics and angles would have been useful if I wasn't so chaotic and winging it by ear.
So the heatwave is coming to an end, but unfortunately my gaming addiction is forever. Despite reaching max level for several of my main characters in Underworld Shelter and also maxed out the coins I could collect, I finally got attacked in PvP and lost a load. This prompted me to spend everything on upgrades, but also tempted me to play PvP. It was easy as the players I was matched started off low level and slowly increased to max. Now its gotten harder and I'm addicted as I need the materials only given on ranking in PvP.
I almost lost hope in completing this one. The original single barrel cannon looked too small so I doubled the barrel and also added a small bolter to the top. The weapon was so big that it hid most of the Terminator Armour that I spent so much time detailing hence the loss of enthusiasm to complete this. The original weapon was supposed to have a bullet feed, but to try and finish it, I went with a simpler cord to make it a laser cannon instead.
So I've been working on the Chaos Terminator more than anything, but that's due to the amount of details needed while the MekBoy doesn't. The Chaos Terminator's helmet looks bigger and that's going to annoy me enough for me to re-do the Warsmith's, unless the painting hides this (if I ever get around to it). It's also just slightly taller. So I thought I better take a photo before I cut my Chaos Terminator in half at the waist to lower it's height. Luckily the back of both these figures is still bare plastic.
There was two reasons that I decided to make two models at the same time. First to save green stuff so I can use any remaining stuff on the other model... fail. The second was while one was drying, I could work on the other... fail. Despite my issues with using plastic and green stuff, I still decided to try again as previously the two kept breaking apart. The Terminator in the middle looks like it'll turn out to be bigger than the first, but I've decided to plough ahead anyway. I even did the arch above the head just to see if I could. This started off as a full arm-less stick man made from plastic and it's already lost a leg. The Mekboy's shoulder pad also keeps coming loose and I've lost the cigar in its mouth, so I'm not sure how the stick legs will hold.
I opted for the hammer instead of the cannon. The first attempt to join the hand to the arm failed and I wasn't satisfied with the look and proportion. Luckily I could easily cut the hand with a pair of scissors and trimmed the edge to re-work it. All that remains is deciding what to do with the base, whether to use the existing mock up or slice it off and mount the Warsmith on a different base. I'll probably finish off the Tau Battlesuits before deciding whether to convert the existing Chaos Terminators to utilise the cannon or model four others to make a HQ squad.
So for comparison, I'm still a bit undecided. The one holding the big gun needs a bit of adjustment to the angle of the arm while holding the gun, but for a Warsmith, the one holding a big hammer fits the role better.
