I'm not sure where I got this Matte Varnish, why I got it, or even how long it's been in my stash! It would be likely I'd scratch or scrape off the paint and ruin this Commissar, so I decided to give it a coat of varnish. I didn't even try to test it first, but luckily it didn't affect the paint job. From a distance it looked none existant, but when you tilt and reflect the light off the surface, you can tell there is a coating. I'm tempted at some time in the future to give all my models a matte varnish, but it's unlikely it will be using this bottle. If this worked out better, this 59ml bottle probably could covered my entire Tyranid Army... |

I'm suprised how restrained I was painting this as I was so tempted to go overboard with more detail. Although the final result looks a bit femaine, I didn't want to try and alter it any more. Without an Ork holding this, how do I categories this post?
Now do I want to start an Imperial Guard category? Or even post the few painted Imperial Guards that I have with the hope one day painting my small horde of Imperial Guards... Unlikely, until I have anything decent. Hmm... I can't even remember where I stashed them along with my custom epic Commissar Yarrick.
One of the two Gundams didn't come with any weapons and my son kept pestering me when I would make it some weapons. I eventually succumbed and got around to making a sword and weapon. I used the left over sprue bits for the entire sword as it would be much stronger than the plastic I had. The sprue doesn't bond using the plastic glue I had, so using a T shaped piece, I found a plastic tube that it fitted into and encased it with the plastic I normally used. I guess the only logical next step is to make an entire Gundam from scratch!
