I can't believe this took me almost two hours to make two base bunkers. I was using spare pieces of plastic so each wall was cut to the correct height and length with the sides sanded to make better joins. They were also carefully glued and aligned on top of the hex base, a few noticable mistakes I made with the first. I didn't glue the walls to the side of the hex base as I did that with the towers and they don't sit flat. I'm planning to leave one bunker open without weapons so I can place a few Tau Fire Earriors (standard soldiers) and the remaining for a pair of Ion Cannons, this time the plan is without the large drone roof. The final small hex base... well if I have time, that will be another smaller Tau scenary piece :)

I'm so glad that I used a full length rod for the barrel and wrapped the end with thin plastic. The overall look is so much more satisfying (and straight). Although I'm not sure if I could replicate this on the smaller size Battlesuits,
reference. Once I put the weapon I made against the Drone disc, it looked familiar. Looking at the 40K models I had on display, I wondered if all my effort was pointless when I could have just straight up used the 40K equivilant... or I need some additional epic details to distinquish the different scale...
shift the whole garden slightly in two directions! And after completion realised how to overcome my initial problem! Luckily I can work on this while playing other games, but unfortunately not at the same time as trying to do my models. I will get this Tau rail cannon completed soon...
I was trying various thickness of pre-made rods for the tip, then opted for the smaller set for the rail-cannons without checking the size in comparison to the Bunker. So second attempt seemed the correct size. However as usual, due to the cost of these pre-made square rods, I cut them into two pieces and added the tip/mid section like all my previous rail-guns/cannons. The problem was always getting them glued straight, aligned and equal spaced on each side with little success due to my eye for detail. Third attempt, only the tip was not part of the long square rod and the middle section was wrapped with the thinest plastic I had. As this proved not as difficult as I thought, I decided a fourth attempt with the square rod that span'ed the full length with plastic wrap to make te tip and mid section support. I just need to be patient to wait for the glue to dry before rounding the edges.
three others that have quite a few daily tasks. Four other games that I login to get the quick daily rewards and around five others, but for my youngest son! So the count for the year is 3 new games vs 0 games I've quit playing. First step is admitting I have a problem, but no-one ever tells you what the second step is!
