While I'm waiting for new tools to arrive to continue/finish off my Tau towers, I decided to switch back to my SM HQ. I still had two corridor section and the planned power room at the end. So the room would be three sections long. However this may be too big to fill up as I intend to use one of these electrical components I had in my bit boxes. Looking at the layout of my floor, this was situated next to the Server Room and the Armoury (currently only in my blog posts ~May 2020). I may end up relocating some of these rooms :(

The three towers looked sparse, hence ended up creating another three. I like even number of structures and making thee meant by the time I finish the third, I could revisit the first both waiting for glue to dry and when painting too. These three was much easier and quicker to make and paint as I knew what I was doing this time around. Luckily I made a purchase on ebay many years ago for a batch of spare weapons, so I have plenty of these to convert. They may even become my perimeter shield generator towers.
One project that actually saved me quite a bit of space for once. Although the communication array won't fit on the two taller tower due to the height of the shelf. It will be a while (hopefully not years) before I attempt to paint the towers due to waiting on some new tools to arrive around March time.
I missed the Stompa Head and now added into page 2 of Concepts to Completion. I also been working on page 3 and forfeited 2hrs of gaming session to do the last three entries. The page navigation is a manually created and will become more difficult as its not a feature that I am aware this web service provides. Possibly difficult mixing Blog features with a Forum like navigation.
The long bases doesn't actually fit into the bunker neatly and I wonder if I planned ahead, I would have made the bunker wider. Although I would not have had a template and making hexagons wasn't easy. At least I could potentially fit three square bases, and even the Tau Devilfish inside. I suppose there wouldn't be a need, but the bunker could be open top for the Devilfish to hover inside for whatever reason :)
The third tower was quicker to make with additional effort in shaving the edges so they glued together without having to fill the gaps. Although the enthusiasm was lacking and the measurements were a bit hasty at times making it less than perfect. At least the third one is compete and even the two communication array didn't quite live up to the original... well the second original (as the first one was too small). What I didn't plan was that the tower made just wide enough to fit a single hex stand, but I now want to make a walk-way between the towers. Ideally the walk-way would be thinner than the tower, but this won;'t be possible if I want to still fit a hex base onto it :(
So the second tower now complete, thanks to the numerous sessions throughout the week. I can't believe I managed to escape my games to work on this. However having the prototype complete and the basis for the second made life that much easier. Even the enthusiasm was high throughout. Although the plan for my Tau City would require a third tower (at least) and I'm not sure whether to make this now while the lessons learned are fresh or take a break.
The underside of the platform was originally made from pieces from my scrap pile to get a similiar feel to the underside of a Tau Drone. Unfortunately now that it's past the concept, I'm now trying to replicate it identically for the two platforms on my second tower. Now I'm wondering if I should sort my scrap pile by thickness as I spent too much time hunting for the right thickness and also the right size (or at least large enough to cut down). Unfortunately it seems I need more than what my scrap pile can provide.
