The Dark Side
The Dark Side was based on Palladium Book's new world book called Nightbane (originally Nightspawn until copyright issues). Humans with a hidden Morpheus that usually is a hideous creature based on their inner self. Locked in an endless war against creatures known as the Nightlords. This theme inspired me to create a website based on this, but rather than publishing created material, I fashioned the website as if it was someone publishing his life experience. It included "The Truth" with a statement stating all content was fiction. This had a slight reference to the then popular X-Files.

The front page contained the above image with some mouse-over script. Rolling the mouse over section of the image would make the eye turn red, the middle red eye to appear or the droplet of blood. I'm not sure where the image came from, but was manipulated to the above result.
The story was based on a inspector called Luther who got involved with an impossible case that lead him into the world of Nightbane. Despite my own personal power hungry nature where my main character was powerful, I deliberately made this main character a normal human. After two stories, I had plans for more that developed my character and started powering him up, but unfortunately that is where it stopped.
It was at this time that my alias came about, Lextar Luther Kane. I used Lextar as my main character in futuristic fiction including Warhammer 40K. Luther was used as a current time normal world. While Kane was used as a darker character when needed. This is what I wrote regarding this name;

This web site included the all common character statistics of a traditional pen and paper Role Playing Game. I think this was always one of my favourite aspect of RPG, although I never liked rolling dice, so I always picked what I thought my character's statistic would be. It was also hard not to max everything out. I even created a character that had nothing to do with the stories using the cartoon character Kim Basinger out of Cool World.
